Albert Black, Chef Concierge with Kennebunkport Resort Collection, brings to the Board of Directors a seasoned insight into the area’s year-round tourism and an enthusiastic vision of Kennebunkport Historical Society’s infinite potential to enrich visitors’ experiences by sharing Kennebunkport history through Nott House tours, walking tours, exhibits, and pop-up events. Having been graduated from Boston University with a degree in English Language and Literature, Black taught English for 10 years in private schools before exploring a managerial career track in hotel hospitality and guest services, a transition accompanied by a simultaneous endeavor to develop his skills as a playwright and musical theatre writer, Man with the Golden Pen. With a smattering of modest production credits, Black continues to balance his passion for dramatic writing with a strong foothold in the “real” world through his professional hotel work, his commitment to the Kennebunkport Historical Society, and his responsibility as curator for the Society’s Bush Family Gallery housed in Nott House. Inspired by his work on an exhibit in 2012 for The George and Barbara Bush Center at the University of New England, “Family First for a First Family,” Black wrote a stage play, copyright 2017, titled “Poppy and Bar, In Their Own Words, Who They Are,” based on the published writings of the late President and First Lady, George H.W. and Barbara Pierce Bush.
